Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using our website and services.

1. Scope of Service

Transporte Digital operates as a digital marketplace (the “Platform”) connecting independent bus and van operators (“Vendors”) with clients seeking private transportation in Costa Rica.

  • Brokerage Role: Transporte Digital is a lead-generation and booking platform. We do not own, operate, or manage any vehicles.
  • Service Contract: The contract for transportation is strictly between the Client and the Vendor.


2. Vendor Obligations & Safety

All Vendors registering on the Platform must comply with Costa Rican transportation laws.

  • Permits: Vendors must maintain active CTP (Consejo de Transporte Público) permits for all listed vehicles.
  • Insurance: Vendors are required to carry valid Póliza de Seguro de Pasajeros (Passenger Insurance) as mandated by law.
  • Direct Booking Prohibition: Vendors are strictly prohibited from soliciting Clients to book “offline” to avoid Platform commissions. Any Vendor found bypassing the Platform will be permanently banned.

3. Bookings and Payments

  • Deposit: A non-refundable booking deposit is required to secure a vehicle and date. This deposit is paid directly to Transporte Digital.
  • Final Balance: The remaining balance must be paid to the Vendor according to the terms agreed upon during the quote process (usually before the trip commences).
  • Escrow Logic: For specific high-value bookings, Transporte Digital may hold funds in escrow until the trip is marked as “Completed” in the Admin Commission Review system.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

  • Platform Deposit: The initial booking deposit is generally non-refundable as it covers administrative costs and lead generation.
  • Vendor Cancellation: If a Vendor cancels a trip, they must provide a replacement vehicle of equal or greater quality or notify the Platform immediately to issue a credit to the Client.
  • Client Cancellation: Refund eligibility for the final balance is determined by the individual Vendor’s cancellation policy provided during the quoting phase.


5. Limitation of Liability

Transporte Digital is not liable for:

  • Mechanical breakdowns or delays caused by traffic or weather (Fuerza Mayor).
  • Any injury, loss, or damage occurring during the transport service.
  • Disputes between the Client and the Vendor regarding service quality.


6. Commission and Fees

Transporte Digital charges a commission on every successful booking facilitated through the Platform.

  • Reporting: All bookings must be logged in the Admin – Commission Review dashboard to ensure accurate reporting and payout processing.
  • Accuracy: Vendors must provide the final agreed price to ensure the correct Commission Rate (%) is applied.
